Helpful Coverage Information
It is important to note that ALL loose fill materials WILL settle, compress and compact somewhat shortly after the initial installation.
Playmate® Play Area Wood Chips® settle 10-12%. When figuring your quote, Dale will add 12 percent to cover settling that we know will occur. Careful, conservative customers often have us figure 20 percent extra just in case a little too much soil was excavated prior to filling. Obviously, do not allow children on your playground until you are satisfied that you have enough material down to meet your requirements.
We also encourage you to figure in an extra 20% when calculating your fabric needs. Please see Drainage & Fabric. This will allow you to overlap the seams. We recommend that you duct tape the seams as well.
